The Town of Ashby is currently accepting resumes for a Part-Time Inspectional Office Assistant. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to support our inspectional services team.

Hours: Up to 4 hours per week, with flexible in office scheduling available Monday through Thursday

Compensation: $18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience

Benefits: This is a non-benefited position

“Majority Rules” Film Screening & Discussion, August 16 at 1:30pm, brought to you as a part of Voices & Votes, a Smithsonian Exhibit Program at the Ashby Free Public Library

The Smithsonian exhibit, Voices & Votes runs for 6 weeks at the Ashby Free Public Library, starting July 26, 2025.

This is a non-partisan exploration of democracy over the past 250 years.  The exhibit is accompanied by:

  • Micro exhibit by the Ashby Historical Society
  • Photography exhibit of local photographers

The Exhibit is on display for 6 weeks through September 6, 2025. In that time, there will be special events, including:

  • Tuesday, July 29: The first of many programs, an author discusses his book Freedom Summer — an eye-opening, riveting read as relevant now as it was 60 years ago.
  • Saturday, August 2, 9am-3pm: Voices on the Common — enjoy music spanning 250 years, record your own short memories about voting and democracy.

During the Exhibits run, the library will be open for extended hours on Wednesday evenings so that visitors can come to view the exhibit and then stay for the band concert. Regular Library hours will be:

  • Tuesdays 10-5
  • Wednesdays 10-7
  • Thursdays 1-8
  • Saturdays 10-2

There will be additional extended hours for programs. 

Come out and enjoy the exhibit. Stay tuned for more updates, and let’s make this a summer to remember!

The Town of Ashby is currently seeking Letters of Interest from registered voter who wish to serve on the North Middlesex School Committee. This interim position will be held until April 2026.

Interested individuals should submit their letters to the Ashby Select Board no later than August 25, 2025,by email to tabos@ashbyma.gov or drop off to Town Hall to be considered for appointment at the Select Board meeting scheduled for August 27, 2025.

This is a vital opportunity to represent Ashby on a regional school committee and contribute meaningfully to the future of our schools and students

The Town Clerk’s office will be closed the evening of Wednesday August 6th and the morning of August 7th.

The office will reopen on Monday, August 11th at 8am.
