Ashby Fire Department Received Great News on Grants this Week

Ashby Fire Department received great news this week that two of the grants we had applied for were approved.

One grant was for $6300 to use for an EMS training mannequin. The other grant was for $2800 to use for PPE.

This is a benefit to our entire community. We should hear about the status of additional grants that have been applied for in the coming months.

Job Posting: Assistant Town Clerk – Town Clerk’s Office

 

The Town of Ashby is seeking qualified applicants for Assistant Town Clerk position in the Town Clerk’s Office. The position provides administrative support duties to the Town Clerk. Some of the duties include maintaining official municipal records, issuing various permits, certifications, licenses and confidential information. The Assistant Town Clerk helps prepare for elections and does data entry work including the Voter Registration System and maintaining reports.

In the absence of the Town Clerk the Assistant has all the responsibilities of the Clerk.

Applicant must have good customer service skills and be able to deal effectively with coworkers and the public in a tactful manner. Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, and Word is preferred.

The days and hours are flexible: 8 to 12 hours a week, Monday through Thursday mornings.

Starting wage: $14.62/hour.

(UPDATED) MBTA Spring Service Update Info To ASHBY

 

The MBTA invites the public to a virtual meeting on upcoming temporary changes to MBTA schedules taking place in March and April, 2021. Meetings will be held February 17 and 24, 2021 from 6-8pm. See the flyer for more details.

New Information (2/16/2021)

The MBTA will undergo an environmental review process to analyze these impacts on riders and the places we service. On February 23rd, 2021 at 6 PM the Forging Ahead Service Level Reduction Environmental Notification Form (ENF) Consultation Session will be held. The public is invited to attend this meeting where staff will describe the proposed changes, potential impacts and mitigation, and answer clarifying questions. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide comments on the environmental issues and impacts of the spring service changes.

Motor Vehicle Excise Tax – Letter Of Apology To The Town Of Ashby

 

Letter of Apology to the Tax Collector and the Town of Ashby regarding the printing and mailing of incorrect motor vehicle excise tax.
