THE ASHBY BAND JULY 3rd CELEBRATION&SUMMER CONCERTS ARE BACK!
The Ashby Band will return to Allen Field for a July 3rd Celebration @ 7:30pm featuring a concert of patriotic music followed by a bonfire by the Ashby Fire Department. Musical selections include:
- Marches
- American song medleys
- ARMED FORCES SALUTE
- AN AMERICAN PAGEANT & STAR SPANGLED SPECTACULAR by George M. Cohan.
The bonfire will be lit following STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER.
The 32 piece professional concert band will present 6 concerts on the common on Wednesdays—July 12th , July 19th, July 26th, August 2nd, August 9th & August 16th. All concerts are at 7:30 pm and will feature marches, light classical overtures, show tunes, pop medleys, children’s favorites, and big band numbers.
Some of this year’s highlights include music from CAMELOT, THE KING AND I, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, THE MUSIC MAN, ANNIE, OLIVER along with tributes to Benny Goodman, the Beatles, Neil Diamond, Glenn Miller & Frank Sinatra. Composers featured this year include Leroy Anderson, Richard Rodgers, John Williams, Henry Mancini, Andrew Lloyd Webber & Irving Berlin. Children selections include highlights from THE LITTLE MERMAID, FROZEN, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, along with DISNEY AT THE MOVIES, DISNEY AT THE OSCARS & DISNEY AROUND THE WORLD.
As always refreshments will be provided by various groups in the town of Ashby. Rain dates will be at the end of the season.
