Community Forum for North Midddlesex Regional High School Building Project, Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Ashby Library. We need your input as we examine options that will result in an efficient high school design that maximizes the site and creates a positive and productive learning environment. Part Time Dispatcher Position is Available

Ashby Police Department – Part Time Public Safety Dispatchers

The Ashby Police Department is currently seeking applicants for the position of Part-Time Civilian Public Safety Dispatcher.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to; receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching Police/Fire/EMS personnel, data entry into a records management system. 

Applicants must have; HS diploma or GED, availability and willingness to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.  Those who possess certifications in E911, EMD, CPR, and CJIS certifications, and prior experience are preferred.  Excellent communication skills including verbal and written, basic computer skills, and the ability to multi-task are required.  Applicants must pass a background and CORI check prior to employment.

These positions are part-time and the starting salary is currently under union negotiation with the Town.  Letters of interest and resumes will be accepted until the position is filled.

Job Opening for Solid Waste Attendant at Transfer Station

Solid Waste Attendant

The Town of Ashby has an opening for a Solid Waste Attendant. This is a part time position. Work hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at the Ashby Recycle Center & Transfer Station. Pay is $14.28 an hour. Candidates must be over 18.
Duties include monitoring and assisting the townspeople in trash disposal, recyclable materials separation, and collection of fees. Must be able to lift heavy items.
This requires working outside in all weather conditions. There are no heated buildings at the Transfer Station.

Gentle Yoga Class for Age 50 & Over

Gentle Yoga class with instructor Roberta Flashman for people age 50 and older. The summer session will be FREE and run for 8 weeks beginning Aug. 3rd - Sept. 21 from 8-9 a.m. Saturday mornings at Town Hall in the Land Use room. Participants should wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing and bring yoga mats if they have them. Extra mats will be available.
